Dear Family and Friends,

Through my school at the Austin Jewish Academy, I have learned that a mitzvah is an act of kindness or goodness when something good happens for us or others. A Mitzvah/Tikkun Olam Project when carefully planned and executed, will provide something good to happen for both the giver and the recipient. For my Bar Mitzvah Project, I have chosen to work with an organization called Lifeworks.

About LifeWorks
Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization that transitions youth and families from crisis to safety and success. They will take any runaway or homeless child, shelter them, provide them with educational tools and address many other basic necessities. They also give counseling to families and help teens who have "aged out" of foster homes helping them learn to live a normal life on their own.
